Who knew taking a breath could be something we take for granted?

Over the past few months, my cousin, Laura, had been hospitalized with a form of endocrine cancer. While she was fighting with tumors for the better part of two decades — you read that right — her tumors metastasized and were being treated with medication and chemotherapy. Laura experienced about a 90% blockage of her airway due to unexpected tumor growth.
While visiting her in the hospital in October, I watched her physically fighting to take a breath. How quickly we take something so simple for granted.

In December, Laura won her battle and met Jesus in heaven.

Laura is fiercely missed by so many including her husband, Nathan, and three beautiful kiddos under the age of five. She loved Jesus, her family, and all things books — in that order. She always looked on the bright side and saw her blessings in the midst of what most people would consider struggles. She was a fighter and fully trusted God’s plan for her life.

And that’s where our ‘Laura’ collection came to be — to know Laura is to know Jesus. In the midst of chaos, Laura continued to choose to trust in God’s plan for her life. She surrendered control and gave it all up to God. She continued to praise Him in all things — and we want to join her and ‘in every BREATH praise Him’.
